Map what can remain
Look for low points, dead-ended branches, valve cavities and trapped sections. Establish how each part drains under its installed orientation. Piping that appears drainable in a flat diagram may retain liquid when elevation and fittings are included.
Review vessel coverage
Tank internals can create shadowed surfaces. Match the cleaning device to the actual geometry and its supplier’s conditions; arrange return capacity so pooled liquid does not compromise the intended cleaning action. Changes to baffles or agitators call for renewed review.
Inspect and maintain
Keep inspection and service access in the design. An inaccessible seal or blocked spray path can escape normal trend monitoring. Identify removable parts and manual tasks explicitly instead of claiming every surface is handled by the CIP loop.
