CIP CIRCUIT ENGINEERING

CIP Heating Duty

Separate heating the initial charge from maintaining the circuit during circulation. The installed heating interface must satisfy the agreed operating case.

State the estimate boundary

An initial sensible-heat estimate uses mass × heat capacity × temperature rise. Divide by the heat-up time for an average ideal power, then account explicitly for heat losses and transfer limits. Water-equivalent calculations do not establish the duty for a different medium.

Review the installed heater

Record utility pressure/temperature, available capacity, control range and exchanger interfaces. Establish a response to loss of heat; extending a timer does not prove a failed phase met its conditions.
