Two-tank CIP system

A compact arrangement when the cleaning sequence can share two defined storage duties.

What this arrangement does

Two tanks describe the available storage arrangement, not the number of circuits the skid can clean. One duty may be assigned to water and the other to a cleaning medium, or the duties may change between recipe steps. The actual allocation must match the cleaning sequence and the return policy.

When to consider it

  • Sites with a defined recipe and limited need to hold separate media at the same time.
  • An individual process area where the connected circuits can be scheduled sequentially.
  • Installations where floor space matters and the preparation or refill time is acceptable.

The trade-off to review

Fewer vessels can simplify the layout, but sharing storage duties may add preparation, discharge or changeover time. Do not assume a two-tank layout can hold rinse water, alkaline solution and acid solution separately at once.

Common questions

Does two tanks mean two cleaning circuits?

No. Tanks hold media. Connected circuits and simultaneous cleaning duties are separate design decisions.

Can a two-tank layout recover solution?

Only where the tank allocation, return segregation and acceptance criteria support that duty. Recovery is not established by tank count alone.
